Aboriginal Family Services is a community-based organization that helps families and children. It is mandated to involve the community and develop strong partnerships. As family structures, roles and responsibilities continuously shift, the Centre realizes the importance of remaining flexible and responsive. If you or anyone you know is in need of help for any reason for general help we can help to locate the appropriate resources. Please call or drop by. AFSC offers the following programs:

The Al Ritchie Family Wellness Centre is a drop-in centre which offers a variety of free family programs (music, crafts, and story telling), a place for you children to play while you visit or use the clothing bank, and also a place to phone if you need help connecting with other organizations in the city for programs or services. Al Ritchie Health Action Centre

The Al Ritchie Health Action Centre is a community health centre whose staff includes a nurse, nutritionist, and outreach coordinator. The Centre offeres a variety of programming, including an adult education program, Baby's Best Start, a community kitchen & cupboard, Toonie haircuts, and much more. Catholic Family Service Society is a non-profit community based organization. It is staffed by qualified personnel trained in social work, counselling and psychology to provide effective assistance to individuals and families in distress regardless of beliefs, social or economic circumstances. Counseling fees are calculated on a sliding scale. Catholic Family Services provides the following programs:

  • Group Programs (For children, teens, young parents, individuals, couples, and families)

Circle Project offers a wide variety of self-development programs and counseling services within a cultural framework that has proven comfortable and acceptable for Aboriginal people. Any person who desires assistance is welcome. Traditional people have been a fundamental part of our organization from the beginning and they provide guidance to us generally, as well as working with individuals who need their help.

Family Service Regina is a not-for-profit, community based organization that provides a variety of services and programs for more than 6,000 families in Regina and the surrounding area. Services include:

  • Counselling
  • Family Violence Services
  • Domestic Violence Intervention Program
  • When Love Hurts (a 13-week program for young women who have experienced abusive relationships)
  • Teen Parent Program
  • Families and Schools Together (to prevent school failure)

Counseling fees are calculated on a sliding scale, and some programs are subsidized with no direct cost to the client.

    Open 24 hours/day for women and children fleeing abuse.
  • Oyate Safe House/"All Nations Helping the Children" - (306) 789-9586/539-5983
    Receives children 12 to 15 years of age who are requiring a place of safety and protection from the harms associated with the street sex trade. Children under 12 years and over 15 years are accommodated in special circumstances.

The North Central Family Centre delivers in excess of 45 structured programs to Regina's inner city children, youth, families andseniors six days a week.
