Regina & Area Early Childhood Network
The Regina Area Early Childhood Network (RAECN) is a voluntary, interdisciplinary, interagency group that represents a broad range of disciplines, professions, organizations, individuals and community representatives working together.
The Network builds on existing resources and increases collaboration among government, agencies and the community. Information about RAECN member organizations is included below.

Family Service Regina aims to empower pregnant and parenting teens and young adults who are often balancing completing their high-school education and adjusting to being a parent. We believe that ensuring adolescent parents receive adequate social, emotional, medical, and academic support is essential to both parent and baby’s future.We work in partnership with Shirley Schneider Support Centre (located at Balfour Collegiate), an in-school program for pregnant and parenting students.

The health promotion team strives to promote the best possible health for everyone. They work with a variety of community partners (at the local, provincial and national level) to help make it easier for residents to make healthy food choices, to develop nutrition standards and healthy public policy. They address issues like healthy built environments, food security, breastfeeding, early childhood and school nutrition, and weight bias. KidsFirst is a home-visiting program designed to support children and families by enhancing parenting knowledge, providing support and building on family strengths.

We offer parent to parent support with any breast-feeding or chest-feeding goal. Our trained volunteers offer help through our phone line, email, Facebook (La Leche League Regina) or at monthly meetings. Current meetings are online, every second Wednesday of the month, starting at 7 pm. Links are shared through our email list.

Project Play YQR’s mission is to increase community access to play. We spread awareness of the importance of play, document play spaces, and share research on play. We offer a community-maintained play calendar of free play events happening around the City. We highlight other play-based organizations and their programming. We host community events and offer free community programming. Communities at Play, funded by the City of Regina, is a series of family gatherings where we offer food and coffee from local restaurants and families can join us for come-and-go free play at different outdoor parks, the Regina Public Library, the MacKenzie Art Gallery, and the Regina Early Years Family Resource Centre almost every Sunday.
