Mission

At the Regina Early Years Family Resource Centre – Airport, we provide a safe, caring, and high-quality early learning environment where together, children and their caregivers can engage in play and programming. These opportunities support brain development and overall growth from prenatal up to age 6 – the most important time period of early development. We work closely with families and caregivers – children’s first and most important teachers – to build relationships, develop trust, and create a supportive, inclusive environment where every family’s unique needs are valued and respected.

Vision

Our vision is to walk alongside families and caregivers, empowering them with the knowledge, tools, and support necessary to guide their child’s development. We aim to help families understand developmental milestones as an ongoing journey, emphasizing the important role of play and exploration. Through resources like a high-quality play environment, community partnerships, and the Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ), we create opportunities for growth and learning. Together, we foster an atmosphere of collaboration, curiosity, and connection – nurturing children, empowering families and caregivers, and strengthening our community.

Values (14).jpg

Relationships First

We build strong, genuine relationships with families, recognizing that trust, open communication and mutual respect are the foundation of effective partnerships. By understanding each family’s unique perspective, and listening actively, we create connections that empower and support both children and families/caregivers. Trust is built on these relationships, helping families feel valued and heard, and ensuring their input shapes our services.

Trust

Trust is essential to our work. We demonstrate reliability, honesty, and integrity in all interactions, encouraging ongoing family engagement. As children grow, trust helps families feel confident in navigating new experiences. We believe that when families, organizations, and communities collaborate, children achieve better outcomes. Trust also strengthens partnerships with community organizations, creating a shared commitment to the success of the children and families we serve.

Respect

Respect is at the core of our engagement with families and caregivers. We honour diverse parenting styles, listen to families’ experiences, and approach every situation without judgement. We value families and caregivers as partners, collaborating to achieve the best outcomes for their children.

Responsibility

We are committed to our role in supporting children’s growth, fostering family engagement, and working together with staff and community partners. We hold ourselves accountable to the families we serve, ensuring their voices are central to the decisions we make.

Accessibility

We are dedicated to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every family feels comfortable engaging at their own pace. We meet families where they are and strive to provide clear, accessible information and support tailored to their needs.

Integration

We celebrate the individuality of each family and encourage the incorporation of their unique beliefs, routines, and experiences into our programming. By embracing diversity, we enrich the learning and development process, allowing each child and caregiver to thrive.

Compassion

Compassion drives us to truly understand and empathize with the experiences families go through, and the challenges they may face. We approach each interaction with care, patience, and kindness, recognizing that we are partners in supporting families’ well-being.

Initiative

We take action to meet the needs of families, creating new ideas and working together with community organizations. Our approach is cooperative, flexible, and focused on continuous improvement and growth.

Persistence

We are dedicated to the long-term success of every child and family we serve. We understand that engagement is an ongoing process, and we remain committed to overcoming challenges and continuously improving our approach to better support families.

Consistency

We prioritize building lasting, meaningful relationships with families and ensuring that engagement remains a central aspect of our work. We are committed to continuous reflection and improvement, creating a lasting impact for children, caregivers, and the community.
